Urgent same day deliveries     

  Most of our jobs are done on a one off basis and it is not, therefore, possible to give an exact price. We mainly calculate on mileage with some allowance for loading time, urban traffic, size of vehicle, tolls and the route used (motorways, narrow country roads etc).

    The mileage element is generally calculated on the basis of the “loaded” mileage and not the return element but sometimes this is unfairly excessive because most of the journey is loaded so a round trip mileage is used and charged at half the rate of the loaded mileage.

    As a guide we try to charge in such a way that the price would work out the same whether it was done on distance or time taken.

   In order to give you an accurate price we will need the postcodes of the pick-ups and destinations. The start place is usually our office but for journeys not close to Shrewsbury we would need to consult with a possible driver firm first.

   We have a minimum charge of £35+VAT (small van) or £50+VAT (large van) which applies if the mileage figure comes below the minimum charge.

 We have a flat rate figure for many cities since mileage becomes meaningless in certain situations eg. it can take an hour to travel a mile in London!

    As a general rule you can calculate the approximate cost by using mapping software. You should set the calculation to fastest route and put the start postcode as SY1 2DL. Enter the pick up and drop off and calculate the mileage at the rate of £1.25 a mile. If the load requires a larger vehicle but under 3.5 tonnes add 20p a mile. The result is exclusive of VAT.

Non Urgent Bulk Carrier Jobs

 We have access to a range of services from national and international carriers through various accounts held by ourselves and colleagues.  Mostly, these carriers will only deal with business customers who have an account with them, and in order to have an account, you woulod need to achieve a minimum weekly spend.

 Our pricing for these services is based on the price quoted to us plus a small service charge.
